TRANSFORMATION OF THE MILOUIN
In 2011, PIRIOU NAVAL SERVICES transformed the port service vessel 'Milouin' into a water injection dredger. This project involved jumboization, the installation of a dredging system, the creation of a splash plate protection platform and the total overhaul of the wheelhouse. The 'Milouin' is now back in action working on the Loire river.
LE MALIN TRANSFORMED INTO A PATROL VESSEL
In 2011, PIRIOU NAVAL SERVICES completed the transformation of public patrol vessel 'LE MALIN'. This former longliner, weighing 1000 tonnes and measuring 50 metres in length, was totally transformed to take on new missions including supervising fishing activities, fighting against pollution and overseeing maritime security operations from its home port on Reunion Island in the French Overseas Territories.
Modernisation of the oceanographic research vessel Thalassa
The Thalassa is an oceanographic research vessel primarily used for public interest missions in the fields of fishery research and physical oceanography. In 2017, it took three months of work for PIRIOU NAVAL SERVICES to complete the vessels comprehensive mid-life maintenance and refit operation designed to expand the ship’s operational capabilities. This included the installation of new equipment for more complex missions in the fields of geosciences and environmental research.
REFITTING THE PATROL VESSEL RAIS BARGACH
This 65m offshore patrol vessel belonging to the Moroccan Royal Navy underwent a comprehensive programme of renovations: Repairs to the hull and structure, surface treatments and full repainting, renovation and modernisation of on-board spaces, inspection of all facilities and replacement of parts where necessary.
